Designer: Little Diversified Architectural Consulting
In 2012, BB&T made the decision to consolidate many of their administrative functions to the Triad Corporate Center in Greensboro, NC, previously occupied by the American Express Call Center. This 261,000-square-foot office upfit project was originally slated to be phased over the course of three years, but as construction began, it quickly became evident that they would need the entire renovation project completed in 2013. BB&T selected Frank L. Blum Construction Company as their contractor for this project, and Blum Construction responded to the challenge of the compressed schedule by reallocating their resources to bring the project in on time and on budget.
The project consisted of the collaborative, open office floor plan that is a BB&T standard for administrative spaces perfected at BB&T’s Reynolda Business Center, which Blum also constructed. The work was spread over multiple large floor plates simultaneously.
