Salem College McHugh Sisters Flats
October 1, 2015
Frank L. Blum Construction Company completed the McHugh Sisters Flats Project for Salem College in August, delivering 92 student beds. The project consists of a four-floor, 33,500 square-foot apartment-style building at the intersection of Main and Cemetery Streets in downtown Winston-Salem. The design team included CJMW Architecture and Stimmel Associates. This building represents Salem's first apartment-style housing and the first residential construction in nearly 50 years, since Blum constructed Gramley Residence Hall in 1965. The building will also provide a new gateway that will connect downtown Winston-Salem and Salem's main campus and extend the visibility of the 243-year-old campus from Business Route 40.
