Reynolda Business Center

Project Owner: BB&T

Designer: Lambert + Interiors and Little Diversified Architectural Consulting

BB&T contracted with Frank L. Blum Construction Company twice to renovate the Reynolda Business Center in Winston-Salem.

The first renovation completely transformed the main level into their BB&T University, which is the home of their Leadership Development Program. The renovation added a tiered and radiused auditorium, breakout spaces, support spaces, and a full-service cafeteria.

Blum Construction then converted the second floor of the building into operations space. This facility was one of the first BB&T administrative spaces to utilize what has now become a standard layout across their organization. The layout combines individual workstations with shared collaborative spaces to provide lively and inviting workspace for encouraging interaction between employees. The 55,500-square-foot renovation was successfully completed in a very compressed three-month time frame.

In both renovations, a major challenge was working around the clock in an occupied building with ongoing business activities from both BB&T and other tenants.
