Primland Resort Spa
Project Owner: Primland Resort
Designer: CMMI, Inc.
Primland Resort, located on the Blue Ridge plateau in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, selected Blum Construction in 2009 to build an upscale spa on the ground level of a four-story lodge that was under construction. Working within an existing shell and using only existing exterior openings, Blum crews used careful, phased planning to accommodate the shipment of materials and building activities to the remote location.
Every aspect of the 12,000-square-foot spa, which makes use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and marble, is designed to soothe the senses. Amenities include a spacious fitness room and a pristine 20,000-gallon, zero-entry pool with hydrospa and waterfall. All of the spa’s treatments are based on American Indian beliefs and legends, and each treatment room provides a unique music experience. In keeping with Primland’s eco-conscious philosophy, construction of the spa met strict LEED® requirements for indoor air quality.
