C. Douglas Carter High School

Frank L. Blum Construction Company won the competitive bid to build Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System’s new Douglas Carter High School. This highly visible project included a 12-acre site complete with a 500,000-gallon underground detention structure and underground sand filters.

Construction challenges included coordination/cooperation with another general contractor on the site. Tying the new building into an existing occupied building made safety of students and faculty of prime importance.
