Community Life Center and Education Building
Project Owner: St. Mary's Episcopal Church
Designer: WKWW, Inc.
After several years of careful planning and fund raising, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church selected Blum Construction to build its new Community Life Center. The Church envisioned the Center as a "place for refuge, help, spiritual nourishment and love," not only for church members, but the entire community.
Built across the street from the historic main campus, the Center’s natural stone façade mimics the original stone. From the beginning of construction to completion, Blum crews carefully coordinated the work to keep parishioners, staff and visitors safe at all times, and to cause as little inconvenience as possible for ongoing services and other activities.
Just as St. Mary’s members had hoped, the LEED®-certified, 21,000-square-foot Center has become a popular facility for the community far beyond its own membership. The building includes a gymnasium, chapel, music academy, commercial kitchen, multi-function gathering and meeting spaces, and a performance stage with lighting and sound equipment.
